He sat in his chair
in a far away whitewashed room.
He’d rule the whole world
if there was a way that he could.
He’d sit and he’d stare
at the minarets on top of the towers.
For he was the beast
as he hatched his new plans to gain power.
And the bombs fell
crushing the dreams and ideals
And the bombs fell
pushing the enemies’ scheme
And the bombs fell
They had to leave their land for survival
And the bombs fell
Aiming at the beast’s biggest rival
They took the old roads
that Omar Mukhtar had taken before.
They fought as the forces of light
against the darkness in a holy war.
One day they were looking around
at the sun shining on the green flowers.
Next day they were bombed to death
by the old colonial powers.
And the bombs fell
crushing the dreams and ideals
And the bombs fell
pushing the enemies’ scheme
And the bombs fell
They had to leave their land for survival
And the bombs fell
Aiming at the beast’s biggest rival
You finally came back
to the borders of your fatherland
Now terrorists came
traitors everywhere at hand
Many people had fought and died
knowing that they had to win
Yet still it sickens my heart
to see the rat flag flying over in Tripoli
And the bombs fell
crushing the dreams and ideals
And the bombs fell
pushing the enemies’ scheme
And the bombs fell
They had to leave their land for survival
And the bombs fell
Aiming at the beast’s biggest rival
